- שתיךְ
- שָׁתֵךְ, שְׁתֵיךְ,ch. sam(שתךְ to become rust-eaten, rust-colored), to be rust-bitten. B. Mets.26a top דשְׁתִיךְ טפי (Ar. דאִשְׁתִּיךְ, with prefixed א) when the coin found in the ground is very much attacked by rust (showing that it has been in the ground a very long time). Pa. שתֵּךְ 1) to make rusty, brittle. B. Bath.19a משום דמְשַׁתְּכֵי לה לקדרה because they (the boulders, v. סֶלַע) would eat away the pot (placed between them). 2) to get rusty. Sabb.102b כיון דמְשַׁתְּכֵיוכ׳ they would not do that (keep their needles in a hole in the ground), because they would get rusty.
